COVID-19

Girl with her Dog

Please be assured that we will continue to remain open as normally scheduled and there will be no interruption to the emergency and critical services that we provide, however please note the protocol adjustments that will be implemented in detail below.

Our operating hours of business (after hours nights, weekends, and holidays) will not change unless the need arises for us to extend our hours. We began opening our doors 2 hours earlier than normal in an effort to better serve the community during these times of uncertainty.

Our top priority remains protecting the health, safety and well-being of our patients, their families (you) and our team. Our routine and rigorous cleaning practices are already aimed at minimizing and preventing disease transmission, but we are taking additional steps to keep patients, pet parents, and our team healthy and safe.

We have observed a number of veterinary hospitals converting to curbside service. In an effort to minimize risk and provide additional protection to you and members of our team, we will implement similar protocols as much as we are able to.

Most importantly, we request that if you are feeling sick or have a family member who is sick, please ask a healthy friend or family member to bring your pet to the hospital. *If this is not an option, please call the hospital when you arrive and are safely able to do so, and we will provide instructions for curbside service at that time.

Please do not come inside the building if you are experiencing symptoms of a respiratory illness or if you believe you may have exposure via travel, friend or family.

In order to comply with the current CDC guidelines, we request that only one pet parent accompany your pet inside the building to check-in and fill out initial paperwork.

Once you have filled out paperwork, your pet will be taken to the treatment area for examination. During this time, we ask that you wait in your vehicle for further communication, including the doctor’s assessment and recommendations.

Please do not leave the parking lot until instructed to do so. The doctor will call you on your mobile phone to request any additional information, review their findings and provide their recommendations. After you have spoken with the doctor, an experienced technician will review the estimate with you over the phone. They will then instruct you when to come back inside the hospital to sign the estimate and leave a deposit.

We will be limiting visitation to one pet parent at a time.

You may notice our team members who are interacting with the public will be wearing masks, gloves, and possibly gowns. Please do not be alarmed, this is for their protection in order to minimize their risk and any risk to you.

We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting the hospital, with special attention to the common surfaces such as doorknobs, countertops, and benches. We have postponed upcoming classes, public staff outings, and most importantly, we have instructed team members who feel ill to stay home and adhere to the current CDC guidelines.

We are closely monitoring and following all recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, American Veterinary Association and local authorities regarding minimizing the spread of the virus to ensure that the actions that we are taking are comprehensive and appropriate.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Thank you,

-The Team at AEHS
